Trans States

There WILL be a lot more furloughs coming within a few months of 2012, that's what they said, it's just a matter of prolonging the inevitable. So I'm sure there's a couple out there with more time that are willing to take a voluntary furlough right before Christmas to get a head start on going over to our sister companies or another airline or do something else rather than spend the holidays on reserve. They said no later than Monday Nov 28th to make the request.

We had a chance to pick-up additional United flying in the fall of 2009, but they didn't want to take a risk with a/c leases outliving the contract. Not a strong vote of confidence for the long term success of Trans States. But once again, they blamed it on the codeshare partner.
Also, the product we're offering may not cut the mustard anymore. Our aircaft are not in the best shape, on-time performace is terrible, and we're still trying to figure out ways to boost our United Promoter score. How long have we been flying for United? Shouldn't we know by now how to make those customer's happy? There was a time when the lowest bidder got the flying at United, but with Continental management in place, their culture may be changing. How's that saying go, is it penny wise and pound foolish? An actual quote from Rick Leach: "It's amazing how shaving half a penny off a trash bag multiplies. You could save tens of thousands of dollars by saving a half-cent on the trash bag or by going to Vendor B." Rick, what's the cost of letting your airline's product turn into trash? Show me that spreadsheet.
All of the above is management's fault. IMHO, you can draw one of two conclusions: either they are imcompetent or it's no big deal (for them) to let the end of Trans States simply run its course. If they are honestly trying to make this company successful in the future, they are incompetent. Best wishes to everyone here, I hope something changes for the better, and soon.

No disrespect to you, but this is management's fault. It is Fred Oxley and Rick Leach's job to make to make Trans States a successful business. To blame it on the code share partner(s) is a cop out. Every regional airline out there is encountering the difficulities of a rough economy, code share partners that play games, aging aircraft, increasing costs, etc.
