Also I hear reserve is airport reserve, and damnit for me that would involve crash padding. Every job has a catch. And how long are most of you all reserve before a line is likely. Thanks for any info.
TSA is my first 121 job so I don't have much to compare it to so I'm sure I'm a bit biased, however I really enjoy working here so far. I had a long wait for IOE (6 weeks) but friends of mine from august classes only had 3-5 days before they got the call so that has been ironed out. I sat reserve for 5 weeks and am now a line holder which I'm excited for. I'm currently STL based along with everyone that has come out of training below me and my fellow classmates. RDU is rumored to be opening sometime around early 2016 with some people saying as early as January, but don't count on it. The airline has a smaller pilot group and has more of a mom n' pop type feel to it and I like that. I have yet to fly with someone who I dislike and everyone is pretty laid back about most things. If things continue to go the way they are and I get based where I want hopefully within the next few months I really don't have much to complain about here. Yes, you will most likely be on airport reserve but I think I did 2 out of the 13 days of airport reserve without being used. By the way, there are loads of crashpads in STL that I know of too that are run by various pilots or flight attendants in both houses and hotels, all of which I have contacted have a shuttle service that is available so its not too bad.

No one knows for sure. It's not growing as planned but according to the chief pilot in DEN and the director of training, come early 2016 "anyone who want's it will get it."

CB, was it not u that gave me a smug, "irrelevant," when i posted a link about the MRJ last month? I guess as Lord and Master of this thread, you decide what is or is not important.

I'm just now starting the transition into 121. Interviewing here and a couple other places. I'd almost for sure be commuting if picked up by Trans States. So I'm wondering if some of you posting on here that are currently commuting could share. Whats your commuting experience like, where are you commuting from/to, reserve/line?

Thanks in advance. I hear you guys about reserve commuting being terrible. But wanting some first hand experience with it especially if you're currently holding a line. Possible to commute and keep sane?

Is TSA not taking ERJs from XJT anymore? in XJT training yesterday. They said TSA can't staff and isn't taking them. Anyone heard of this over there?

At C5, heard starting spring 2016 trans states will shift to ord and den only and Mesa and c5 will grow in IAD. Heard it from someone who heard it from someone who probably just made it up.
