Thanks, that 2 times a year sounded a bit draconian. Thanks for the follow-up CBreezy with the LOA language that says it's unlimited.
I read earlier in this thread that the company can change 5 of your 11 reserve days. That's awful
Does a pilot bid for or are they assigned reserve times within their reserve days? And if so, are they 'standard' reserve windows or do they change all the time?
Thanks guys/gals.

One thing that many people have done to help beat the system is tie scheduling's hands. You can move reserve days (based on coverage) and it limits their ability to move your days off. I did it when I was on reserve and many others did it too.

Our reserve language is weak.... As far as the reserve times, you are technically started on Long Call but that never/rarely happens. You are then converted to either short call or Airport Reserve.

If...IF...LC reserve was truly LC reserve, I could have commuted to ORD. I didn't look forward to commuting to ORD let alone commuting to SC reserve.
Another way to tweak reserve days off is to identify the last three days of a month as "golden days off," then bid the first days of the following month off but don't designate those as "golden." Scheduling seemed to have a hard time dealing with that scenario or didn't bother. It worked for me.
Thanks for the tip... I'll give it a shot. Where'd you end up going after leaving RSV Capt. at TSA?

Besides it being completely irrelevant, I'd bet the first flight goes aa scheduled but the delay the subsequent flights.
A CQFO question: so there are no CQ's sitting CA reserve in ORD. If being based in ORD is most important to me would I then bid a regular FO RSV line in ORD when I'm senior enough to hold that? Thanks.

You're a FO so you bid as a FO. When your seniority can hold and the company allows transfers. Then you can transfer to ord.
