That's rich. Listen, we all appreciate you guys not letting Bedford bend the pilot group over the table, but your current contract is the literal basement. Most of you were cheering a few years ago when 175s started showing up on property. So, your solution for our contract was to demand something completely unrealistic instead of getting one of the best contracts in the industry. Yeah, I'll be sure to take notes from a guy who went to republic then tried to become a CQFO here. That'll make the industry better for sure.
Those planes were acquired based on an unsustainable business model (cheap pilots) with the assumption that the 145's and Q400's would be off property to staff them. It was a negligible gain in airframes, nothing to get excited about. Delta said no that's not going to happen, and now they're putting 717's on some of our routes. At the end of the day, I sleep great at night (on my originally scheduled days off) and feel great about not making the move to TSA.
PBS and junior manning are unrelated. We can be junior manned now. At least with PBS, you have a chance of getting days off you want. But even PBS won't show up on property with QOL protections.
You're attacking us? For what? For being one of the only regionals to take a contract that positions us to be one of the best compensated FFD carrier and do it without taking concessions? Want to go after someone? ENY/PSA/PDT/MAG and even the wonderful ARW have contracts or TAs with concessionary language. PDT sold pay rates and health insurance for jets. ENY sold an entire industry leading contract for EJets. Mesa is getting reserve balancing and still doesn't have 100% DH pay. Read my previous post. It's not the best contract out there but it's a big step in the right direction in what is somehow STILL a concessionary environment.

While I have a great distain for most everyone, even my own regional, its nice to see things moving in the right direction. But I think the big reason the TA was achieved was because of the pilots you desperately need to attract. First year pay is better than most, but in the grand scheme of things its still well below what we ALL deserve.

Losing 77 pilots in the last two months (187 since June 2014) with the carrot of 50+ shiny under the wing jets on order and having a pilot group willing to put the pressure on management helps. We (through our union) said no to $40/hour first year pay; why did you accept $35? To try and get some warm bodies in the door to staff those XR's?

Cuz the XR'S are so different from any other variant of the 145?. It's an airplane. We all fly airplanes what's the big deal?

The big deal is that an "industry leading" pay increase was voted in to try and staff airplanes that are yet to come on property, while the likes of AWAC and RJET who have TA's and LLLLBFO's out with rates north of the "industry leading" pay are being undercut. It's a "me me me" culture of taking the first offer to facilitate growth and quick upgrades. One day you'll just realize you are the flavor of the week and there's no one to fill seats because you neglected to make this career viable for the people behind you.

Just so you know I spent time at RAH myself sir. Majority of the RAH pilots were not for that TA that was proposed because it circumvented the Union.
