Default Jeppesen Approach Plates

Just have a few questions for those that are seasoned Jepp plate users:

Basic question:
Regarding IFR flight planning with Jeppesen approach plates, I understand Jepp has enroute charts and the "Airway Manual." However, does Jeppesen have some sort of Airport/Facility Directory? I have seen something like this on their website, but it seems little-known as I cannot find much in the way of examples, and am not even sure if I'm looking at the right thing. It also seems to be separate from the Airway Manual (that thing alone costs an arm and a leg!).

More advanced question:
Regarding airway restrictions on an approach plate such as "Procedure NA for arrival on ABC VORTAC airway radials 010 CW 120." I see this on the gov't approach plates but for the same Jepp approach plates I do not see it. Looks like this is a TERPS requirement, why don't Jepp plates list it?

Jepp has an Airport Directory separate from the approach charts.

Jepp doesn't make up their own charts, they just reformate the government information. What airport are you looking at?

Jeppesen's airport directory is a separate subscription and is not as comprehensive as the A/FD. The whole US fits in a 1 inch binder and each page can list up to 20-30 airports.

The information that you'd find in the A/FD are located in the 10-1P pages (if they exist and primarily outside the US) and in the various sections of the text pages (state rules and procedures/radio data/entry requirements/emergency and there are several others) or in the 19- pages of their VFR manual (for Europe)

I'm just wondering mainly for instructor purposes, such as teaching someone how to plan an IFR flight with Jepp charts.

With gov't charts I start at the A/FD and find the destination airport and use that to find its lat/long and the enroute chart it's on. I can also see if there's an RCO or GCO if it's uncontrolled, and any other necessary frequencies. You can also find FBO phone numbers and if they oxygen.

Where would I find this equivalent information with Jepp? If I pay so much, their products should have at least equivalent information. I have an old airway manual for Texas lying around. But in the text pages all I see are legends, NOTAMs, TEC routes, and preferred IFR routes. Where would I find, for instance, VOR receiver checkpoints? Are you just expected to use the A/FD in conjunction with Jepp products?

It's all there in the J-AID Airway Manual section, but it is a separate subscription from just the charts.

Check out the Jeppesen Chart Clinic at
craigmorton.com/ifr/

It is a series of magazine articles with a TON of useful info about Jepp charts.

Jepp charts show VOT frequencies on the 10-9 airport diagram page, but they do not show VOR reciever checkpoints.
