Default Airliners at Eagle, CO

We have a base in KEGE so I'm up there pretty much every week. We just got the Cottonwood FMS Departure finally but it doesn't look like we're going to go through the process for the Special ILS.

We were doing the LDA yesterday and there was an American 757 in front of us and they were cleared for the ILS (or LDA I forget which) FMS approach.

I was wondering what the LDA FMS approach minimums are? And also do the crews have to go through special training for the Eagle approaches?

Thanks!

I'd be interested in getting in touch with you. I'm living in Vail at the moment, a low-time comm./inst. pilot and really looking for any connections that could help get me plugged in at KEGE. If you're interested, shoot me an email - [email protected]. Thanks.

If it's anything like the LOC approach at ASE then for the airlines it requires special approval from the FAA and a special training program for that airport. For us it was a couple hours in the sim but you had to have 250 hours in type/seat before going to training. Also you had to fly the approach every either 30 or 90 days or go back to do one in the sim (I forget the timeframe)
