So we are going to vote in someone who has never done any work for Sun Country ALPA , has no clue how our management operates, and the only thing to trust is that they have done prior work for ALPA in a now defunct airline.
Just in time for contract negotiations.
Winning.

Yes actually, because the alternative hasn’t flown on the line here either. He represents only the needs of likely your seniority level and the rest of us are frankly fed up. The majority of pilots now are not the 6xxx seniority. So yes, it’s time for a change and time stuff actually gets done.

Kangs. You're going up against a vocal minority here.
If the current MEC leadership doesn't know... or understand... or shows intrigue... perhaps that indicates they are out of touch with the pilot group. Round one voting had, what, 76% to 24% in favor of a new MEC? And they don't understand that vote? Then there's the problem. I mean, let's criticize employees from non-union carriers making their "first vote" by saying they don't know what they're doing. Not a good strategy. Not a winning strategy.
Whatever "it" is, it's not personal. Good people respresent this group. I'm not fully committed on my vote. I will tell you I've stopped tuning into any Tuesday calls. Too much gloom and doom. Much preaching, not much listening.

So nothing happened at midterms. Big deal. I'd rather have nothing happen then just have us take or make concessions for the sake of "doing something". I believe the company came in with some ridiculous asks that EM and crew shot down knowing they'd be counterproductive. And now they're hoping we'll vote in a new leader so that by the time openers come around we're still not ready to negotiate because the teams are still being put together or brought up to speed.
I'll also admit that when I heard about how long it's been since EM has flown I was pretty annoyed. But the job of leading this MEC isn't a part-time job. It's not one where you can turn off the office while you work a fatiguing 4-day and then come back into the office the next day ready to be productive. He's a smart guy and I don't think he needs to be out there to understand how crappy things can be.
