Anybody listen to the full earnings call? It paints a pretty bright picture for the future of the airline in my opinion.

Default First Day-IOE

Does anyone know what the current timeline between the first day of training to IOE is? From what has been mentioned in the interview and earnings call, the delays have gotten significantly better. However, I was wondering if anyone had any inside information.

first day of training to finishing IOE can be 5-6 months. Normally it’s 3.

Default Training/Systems

Hey guys this is going to be my first airline job. I was wondering how in-depth we will have to know the systems for the Systems Validation. Any input would be appreciated. I tend to overstudy and I do not want to overthink the process. Also, will we get systems training other than the CBTs? I have heard they’re doing home study now, but upon getting access to those, I will get a head start.

Don't worry. They'll give you all the tools you need to succeed regardless of your aviation background. And if you end up needing more sims they're very accommodating of that as well. They'll tell you what to emphasize in your studies all the way through.

Your only priority should be passing your check ride, logging onto Airline Apps, adding the 737 type, submitting your application to Delta, and start studying for the upcoming Delta interview.

Did they adapt their training program for the 1500 hour applicants? I've been out for a while not sure if they would consider me with just an ATP / CL65 type <200 hours on type). Thinking of coming back but regional FO hiring is really slow.
Any other bases planned other than MSP? How is the commute from DFW?

They have been updating their training, but more to make it efficient and eliminate the large gaps between the different sections rather than focusing on 1500 hour applicants. Having said that, having a 121 background and jet experience will make the training easier, but it's still doable without either. There have been rumors for years about additional bases, but nothing confirmed and I wouldn't hold out for any in my decision making. For the commute from Dallas, I commuted up for about 9 months through training and several months on the line and it's doable. Commuting in general sucks, but when we do MSP-AFW and AFW-MSP flights or our summer flights to and from DFW it's much easier. There are quite a few flights daily back and forth. I was in the jumpsuit quite a bit, but it was usually on my first attempt.
