The average line value for January is 89:20. As a new hire you’ll probably be at the reserve minimum (75 hours) for a bit, but that’s probably close to what the lines average throughout the year once you get a line.

Old timer here at a regional. What's the soonest the company will allow you to upgrade? What's the main reason high-time FOs are bypassing? Is there talk of boosting first year pay to compete with the regionals?

You can upgrade the second you hit 500 in type.

The main reason FO’s are bypassing is schedule and QOL. We are getting a lot of commuters that don’t want to upgrade into being a reserve captain.

No talk of upping the pay, the company could up first year pay without consulting the union, yet they haven’t. They have applications stacked and classes full to May, so they aren’t seeing a recruitment issue to necessitate a first year pay bump. The issue is retention.

They are running into a growth problem. You can’t grow without captains. Hence why class sizes have shrunk in half. Basically hiring to cover attrition and the 4-5 that actually want to upgrade per month. They FO’s are making an acceptable living bidding in the right seat and the financial gain in the left isn’t warranting them to move over. From what I’ve heard from middle and upper management is that they want to grow like crazy but then when I talk to them one on one the plane deliveries don’t add up to much.

With the announced (mailed?) pay rates at Allegiant we now have the dubious honor of the lowest paid year one FOs. Regionals included. Yeah I know, UPS- different animal. Although leadership hasn’t talked about FO pay increases, not sure how they avoid them.

As far as the full classes, I know of two guys who have a class date and are going elsewhere. And I don’t know many people.

Isn’t Spirit at $61 an hour? Frontier at $75? We are at $80 now.

Spirit started voting on their TA today. Believe it’s $95.40/hour year one FOs. With the 321 override.
Frontier has been $90/hour since July.

Aah, well hopefully we see increases here too. I’m guessing as long as we keep getting new hire FO’s, we won’t see anything substantial. The company is focused on getting enough upgrades to staff the projected growth. They tell their investors they want to be double in size by 2027. Pretty lofty goal from where we are.

The mailer you refer to just pushed this process into a 4-6 month pause while the NMB is called in. Figure 2-4 more years after that. So don’t worry, Allegiant’s still the lowest.
