I would say growing pains would be more accurate, but your views are quite different than mine.

Fixed it for ya.
These are indeed growing pains and such exciting times for pilots. Check the animosity at the MCD and enjoy the ride or just go to D. A Sunny 738 pilot is an easy hire for them and you'll fit in great.
I have faith in our union and CEO. IMHO they will incentivize upgrade. Perhaps sooner then later.

Seriously. If you don't like it here you can go anywhere with a little bit of interview effort. See ya.

Pretty tough to just leave if you have 10+ years invested and are sitting top 20%. Sunny needs a raise.

Also 293 isn’t until 2025.

What is your data point you are referencing to believe the company will sooner than later incentive upgrade? What was wrong to keep them from doing it 6 months ago?

Im still 300 hours from upgrade. So. There is that. But I’m trying to understand what you see that everyone else doesn’t.

Ah, but that $700/hr PPE got me feeling like Hunter coming back for some more!

Have fun doing 4-5 day trips for the rest of your career. Until maybe your last 10 years when you can finally hold some turns or 2-3 day trips and be able to make the wife or kids birthday party. Need to call in sick for a friends wedding or important event? Have fun with the Chief pilots tracking your callouts and breathing down your neck.

The differences in pay scales at top out (min guarantee) is about $2800 a month extra. After taxes …maybe $1300-1400?

You can easily supplement that income and well exceed it if your smart with your money( invest, own a business) you’re not going to get rich flying as a Pilot for sun country. If you’re smart about manipulating your schedule you can get a lot more time at home for yourself to do what you want with your time.

But as others have said, any pilot here can get hired anywhere they want if they tried.

And if you’re commuting to this airline… well that’s a different story/problem in its own.

Not sure I understand this part of the comment. Sunny used to be a turn airline. Now it is not a "turn airline." That much has changed dramatically in the last 5 years. No one knows what it will look like in 5 or even 10 years. We really don't know what we will be doing the rest of our careers. Having said that, while "holding turn lines" is pretty much off the table, flying a lot of turns is still on the table. Even as a junior FO/CA, you can get a lot of time at home, and turns are abundant during the winter vacation flying season (mid December through mid April). No one is forced to bid the lines with only long (4/5/6 day) trips. But then again, I'm not sure if you were aiming your comment at Sunny or if you meant to say that 4-5 day trips is what you would get jumping ship to another shop...

Ive had 30 layovers this year and I’ve got 20+ years left. Still lots of day trips. Most of my layovers are trips I picked up for the high premium pay 250-300%. If you don’t like it by all means leave. Lots of other options out there.

I'm putting in a swimming pool. If there's enough left over, I'll fly you all in to help us dedicate it.
