I applied over a month ago in early Jan but received no response. Is HR that busy or do you think they are not interested? (4600TT, 450hrs PIC in 737NG, FAA ATP written only)
Also if called, any idea if they would conduct interview on zoom entirely since I am currently in overseas? Or for in-person interview would Sun Country help out with international travel arrangement?
Thanks in advance.

I would say the QOL has improved. Nothing to go write home about but better. There are a few things that will happen in the coming months in terms of contract implementation that should make a difference in QOL. The line improvement period, open time change (if your junior, if your senior maybe not so much), the system reserve and long call line.

We will see a small improvement once we get PBS, a huge improvement 1/1/23 with the trip rig.

I would like to say things will get easier schedule wise once we get more people in the door but I am afraid that the company will just keep on adding more flying and we will be short forever. That can be good or bad depending on your perspective.

I disagree. 95 hour lines forced on everyone with 50% of them having 2 days off between work blocks? 6 days followed by 2 off and then straight into another 4-5 day. 5 turns in a row. No thanks.

People are getting burnt out fast. I really miss the old days when we actually had a life to live outside of flying.

Outside of a merger or a economic recession, I don't see lines getting better. We are going to be shortstaffed for the considerable future. Company wants to make money. We should of put min days off intbetween trips in this contract. I'm sure things will get better next year when trip rig takes into effect!

I heard a rumor that your mechanics are leaving in droves, and that MELs are stacking up on the airplanes. Truth?

Unfortunately, I believe there is some truth to this.

What's the latest with Sun Country merging with another carrier?

I thought I heard they gave them a raise. Just like our pilots, across the airport is delta. The highest paying passenger airline. They had to do something. They gave us a huge raise. The FO’s have been getting 200% for open trips since the new year. FO’s are still leaving at a rate that will make their growth plans challenging. They are making a ton. QOL isn’t getting better. That’s why pilots are leaving. The union got pay rates and work rules that will allow the pilots here to make some ridiculous w2’s. Some want QOL more than money. Not everyone wants to work 20-21days a month. But if you do the money is great.

I’ve always said that this company would attract more people by opening 2 or so other bases and not raising the pay then it would by raising the bay and only having MSP. Proof is in the pudding. We have all this money now and no time to spend it.
