Vacation pay from 2.67 to 4 hours a day. Reserve days worth 3.89 hours from 3.5, rescheduling window if a trip cancels went from -2+6 footprint to +3 and it’s all paid at 150% to get you back to base. If it’s after 0200 you get 5 hours. If it’s after 1600 next day you get an additional vacation day. If you accept add flying during a trip it pays 200%. I know this might be a shock but just got block or better.

Right now schedules are pretty terrible with long uncommutable and horribly inefficient trips with few days off, but that may not be representative of how they will be in just a couple months. Assuming the TA gets voted in, pairings and lines will likely be quite a bit different than they are now due to ALPA’s involvement in the pairing and line construction. Then on Jan 1, 2023 the 3.5 rig will kick in, theoretically increasing efficiency and reducing days worked. And then PBS implementation at some point, which will also greatly change schedules. So essentially anything we tell you about schedules in the past may not be relevant to someone by the time they finished training.

There is out of base reserve, but you bid on it (it’s a completely separate line), positive space to/from on your first/last day, and you’re paid a premium of 5 hours PER DAY above the trip value whether you fly or not. I think it comes out to something like 140 hours regardless if you fly or not. It’s all in the details.

No more getting assigned reserve days if your trip cancels.

The TA has not passed yet. It’s still Sun Country. the flying is still the same. The trips are still in efficient. If you had your mind set on leaving and going to the big airlines why would you stay. The rig and min day don’t kick in for 12-24 months. I would expect to see lots of regional pilots come and use this as a stepping stone as well. Get more pay while waiting for the call. Some will stay but most unless they are deeply rooted in MSP will leave as well.

with this new contract...months and years away in some aspects...are we going to regret some of this scheduling "flexibility"? maybe the company is winning one here we just don't see yet. there are a lot of open trips that pay 150+% and if we are all picking up and swapping with each other to be able to pick up more later, there won't be any need for 200% or more.
something to look at later when we negotiate PBS, is when the lines are awarded, the earlier the better sure, but that may give us fewer trips to bid on.
Company is getting long call reserve, which some of us seem to want, but that will also decrease the amount of premium trips, because of the increased productivity the company gets from LC reserve guys.

read and think critically...after all, the company did agree to this too.
