I'll tell why guys are going to SWA, I have a friend over there and he showed me his schedule, three 3 day trips with a credit of 80 trips. Second year f/o makes in the 120's per hour and with the dc they make more than a 5 year capt here. New hires at SWA can choose their base right out of training except for atl and mdw I think. There has been a big uptick in resignations since November and that comes from the most reliable source.

I don't understand how 29/7 keeps efficient trips from being built. I believe our wonderful trip averaging is what gives us low yield trips which is what I think your issue is. If we had a good trip rig it wouldn't be a problem. I really don't like hearing "get rid of 29/7" or "get rid of transition." Makes it sound like those are throwaway items when they actually have amazing value. "Get rid of" those things and see how (especially) junior folks quality of life nosedives.

How long will it take when we actually start getting down to brass tacks? We can all keep dreaming though.

This. ^^ If anyone thinks we're getting a contract by the end of this year, they're delusional. It's taken over 2 years to get through the NON-ECONOMIC sections of the contract, and they're STILL not done.

These idiots and JA wasted a year of bargaining only to get nowhere. Then after not making any headway, we had no choice and requested mediation just so we could start the clock on these morons.
Keep up the good work and three engine taxis boys.

Everyone has a different place to draw a line in the sand and the end of the summer is mine. It's tough with a family to make that kind of move but I should have my house in order by then to take the first year pay cut. I understand the sooner than later argument but this is the best I can do. I will however start applying next month and hopefully have something to consider by the end of summer or fall.

The Judge is correct. Anyone who thinks we are getting a TA without either going on strike or being 30 seconds away from being on strike is kidding themselves. Ask yourself if we will be at that point by the end of 2017. I doubt it. Its going to be a long low paying road to a new contract. Every day the company waits the economy could crash or something else could happen where they can claim they can't afford to pay us. Combine that with the possibility of having this drag out endlessly until we are almost there then having the merger happen and having to start all over again and you can see its going to be awhile.
