We all knew it wouldn't work from the negative reserve buffer numbers. Whats weird is that the company would stick out their neck like this (threatening a lawsuit) when the evidence will clearly point out that they published an unflyable schedule that was so different from the previous months schedules as to by itself establish a company-induced change in the status quo. Nothing about the may schedule is anything like the April schedule, and seasonal load variances aren't going to be a viable excuse either when they couldn't get through IOT without "fixing" red/green by making reserve buffers negative. They knew they were over 15 pilots short on many days in most bases before DOT even opened. Status quo? Compare april and May IOT/DOT and there's your status quo change right there. The pilots have nothing to do with that, its all on scheduling.

I agree a couple guys shouldn't become a successful lawsuit in the companies favor. But on the flip side of your statement a lawyer could make this work in the companies favor as well. The nasty picture these guys paint on these forums easily makes it seem like 80-90% of the pilots are all for their way of thinking. This could easily turn into a scenario where the actions of a few effect us all. I seriously hope not and I hope we're able to counter any potential lawsuit the company may bring but regardless times are about to get real dark here.

Discovery would show how the company has a deliberate system of not staffing the Airline properly and it's been a ticking time bomb for months. Add the fact that management has very limited interest in settling a pilot contract while other airlines realized it's time to make good with it's employee's while earning record profits. Not Spirit Airlines management! It's still playing by an outdated management play book. The Pilots Union been telling management you need to clean up your act and hire? Staffing issues last month, NEO's and WX have created the perfect storm. Now the Company wants me to give up my personal time to clean up their mess? Sorry NO! I'm sure the June bid cycle will be fine!

This is the first email from the MEC that has actively ticked me off.
It's plain to see that this is the company's own fault. An excess of open time can only mean poor planning and insufficient staffing, barring extreme cases of course. (weather, etc.)
I expected the MEC to aggressively counter the company and argue using the logic above. Not to tell me in so many words that I need to work on my days off.
I would hope that nothing said on this forum can be used "in court." It is, after all, only an internet forum. Any lawyer should be able to argue that everything said on here is nothing more than "keyboard warriors."
Now, that Jackdonkey that started the chokers website... if it wasn't someone in management looking to make us look bad (and I wouldn't put it past them,) *that's* the sort of stuff that's going to get us in trouble.
But again, for everyone on here who says they enjoy time with their family (myself included) there's reports of open time being picked up by the so-called "chokers."
So tell me, is there really less open time being picked up? Or is there too much open time caused by poor management?

Are negotiations going anywhere to begin with?? We've TA'd the last bunch of easy stuff a while back. The rest will come as an overall TA. This is the last stall tactic the company knows how to play. Are people going to be motivated to help in light of their threats, time will tell.... I personally don't like being threatened by the company for something I didn't do.
