I don't know about any of you guys out there but I'm having a real hard time getting motivated to go to work these days let alone fly any extra opentime trips even for JA and for the record I have not taken any since negotiations started. After reading Urinal's email about security policies and our responsibilities, then reading the financial news that just came out today about Spirit's earnings, I am just dumbfounded that any pilot would help this company out at all. I'm an older guy that has health concerns like most older guys have and watching several of our pilots go down with a medical and getting no help from the company seriously concerns me. Long-term disability may not mean that much to you younger guys right now but I could potentially lose my home and the ability to take care of my family if something were to happen to me for an extended period of time. It's just infuriates me to think of Bendo and the company dragging their feet and denying us all the long-term security that we all deserve. For all of you out there helping the company in any way, you are doing the entire pilot group a serious disservice.
Right on! I hear what your saying.
I used to be one of those young guys that never thought anything would happen and thank God nothing has, but I'm also old enough to realize something could.
I am fortunate and have made some very good decisions backed up with a lot of luck. I have something to fall back on because I have never trusted this place to do the right thing.
Our pilot group really needs to open it's eyes. Great earnings reports, CEO record pay, management bonuses way up, yet we are paid an all time industry low. American just gave their pilots a pay raise and it's not even contractual. Because it was the right thing to do is what the CEO is quoted saying.
This place wants everything yet wants to give nothing. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP.
Just want to thank all the company butt kissers out there. You can thank the rest of us later when we get a new contract for you. You are a bunch of sheeple.

I am a younger guy but I can empathize. My father's career was destroyed because of medical issues (zero help from his long time employer) and our LTD is just pathetic. Come to think of it, our STD () is pathetic too, as in practically non existent.

By the way....I always pick up and chat as long as possible. Waste their time like they waste mine with stupid offers. No offer but a new contract is good enough. Only suggestion, be polite, you're on a recorded line.

They bought me off a trip and flew me down for an NOI that ended up being nothing because they "lost" it.

Spirit Airlines (NK, Fort Lauderdale Int'l) has confirmed it has abandoned plans to take delivery of any more A320neos until 2019.
The Ultra low-cost carrier said in an SEC filing on Friday, April 28, that of the four A320neo it had intended to take delivery of in 2018, two have been converted to A320ceo (for delivery this year) with the remaining two now deferred until 2019. The renegotiated contract was finalized during the first quarter of the year, it said.
As it stands, Spirit's A320neo delivery schedule will see fourteen deliver from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) in 2019, sixteen in 2020, and eighteen in 2021. The carrier has already taken delivery of five A320neo all of which are Pratt & Whitney PW1127G-powered variants. The aircraft have, however, been subject to recurring technical glitches with two - N901NK (msn 6833) and N905NK (msn 7334) - now inactive since March.

This place needs to invest in how their product is flown. Anyone who cares about this job needs to see in this that they have ample to pay standard. FUPM

all this discussion about pick up and drops out of open time is nauseating. Let's keep it simple:
1: Get your awarded line
2: Finesse it with iot and dot to make it commutable or higher credit without sacrificing days off when possible. (this includes you too tx conflict guys. If after the conflict, you have 18 days off then try to keep it at 18.)
3: Fly your line
4: When at work, fly the contract. No waivers and no favors.
5: Enjoy your days off and forget you have a phone.
Pretty simple. If everyone just did this we'd have a contract by mid summer.
