Margins and $$ in the bank are good, but if you can't find pilots to fly the planes, it won't matter for long. In my opinion, and I have been pessimistic on any "pilot shortage" for the last decade and a half, if they wait too long to increase pay, that's where they will find themselves.

They will keep dropping minimums to fill class dates. They will get waivers from the government to go even lower and they will in the end sponsor green cards to fill class dates.

It is up to ALPA to get the pay up. The company will never do it on their own.

Until there's a smoking hole courtesy dropped minimums and relaxed standards. There won't be too many Free Smiles down in Miramar if/ when that happens.

The basic formula came out to:

SWA DOH = AT DOH - 3 or 4 years

Have to love airlines that expect you to lie and blow smoke up their asses to get hired. A great way to start a job.

We were dealt a good hand with all these new routes we added. Even in January we are cancelling due to lack of crews. So how do we expect to add all these new routes in the Spring and Summer? Investors and the BOD will take notice, when is the question.

They don't give a rats ass about that, if they did they wouldn't be limiting the Negotiations to 3 days a month.

I wish you guys luck and I hope you are able to really disrupt the operation. I also hope Jyri & Bendo get canned over it

Yes, maybe increase the pay to attract and keep pilots. Just a thought.
