I'm with A320ULCC, I won't post what I'm expecting or what I'll settle for. What our union has made public is we're asking for 'industry standard compensation '. Our last complete proposal submitted to the company made public by the union prior to us entering mediation, was current book on work rules, United +1% on pay (pre Delta TA passage), 16% DC retirement, and 'industry standard' profit sharing.....
As to how long the process will take, at our current pace I'd say a minimum of 1 year. The union has stated they anticipate to start negotiating the work rules & compensation portions in February, how long it will take with those meat an potatoes sections, no clue.....

I don't want you to get the wrong impression; prior to mediation, the company backed out of several previously agreed upon negotiating sessions. In mediation, they've decided they weren't up to ANY negotiating sessions this month (December). We're at the table tapping our fingers, they're giving excuses. Hope that gives you an idea who we're dealing with.

Honestly I don't want Delta or any of the Legacies for that matter. I'm looking for more in terms of QOL. With all of the legacies work rules and bases they can't give me what I'm looking for. Money doesn't make happiness, Sure it helps and its important, but I don't want to be a miserable old man living in a place that I don't want to be, working under a contract that will not give me the QOL that I'm looking for.

We are certainly behind industry average here at Spirit in pay and retirement. Our QOL though is not bad. It's certainly comparable to other majors and perhaps slightly better in some areas.
