Hey Guys,

I'm wondering, what are the chances of getting an interview with these times and credentials: 2,000 TT and and around 1,800 of those hours in a BE-1900 as an SIC under 135 and no college degree?

Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

Sounds like you may be a Laker? :) I did 6 months there a few years back!

I honestly love the people that I have met there. And I really wanted to get in before this contract passes. I can't believe the new pay rates. I like their bases too. 12 years at Mesa is enough too. Spirit recently hired a CA we had that had a hard landing and declared an emergency when there was no need to..maybe I need to drag a wing tip across the DFW terminal and put that on my resume??... it just hurts to see people get hired that have a terrible record. I mean good for them and I wish them the best but it hurts when I'm busting to do the right thing.

I know the EXACT captain you talking about and yup he's at spirit

Cool, thank you. One more question: I don't know if you'll be able to answer this but, is an unrestricted ATP a hard requirement? Will they accept a restricted ATP?

Umm, not sure on this but if you go to the FAA FSDO and show that you have the requirements for the ATP (x-country, total, etc.) they can remove the restriction easily right then and there, don't need a company to do that! That's what I did with my restricted ATP to get the limitation off:cool:

More than anything hey just want to get to know you. They will ask you about your background and various experiences in the Airlines. They'll probably ask you why spirit and why you want to leave your current job. If they sense that you see your current job as a stepping stone they'll probably not hire you, and the same goes for they way you view spirit. They are mostly looking for guys who could be happy here or even staying where you're at. It's a stress free interview, and the stuff on aviationinterviews.com is a good sample of what you can expect. Good luck

Thanks so much for the heads up! It looks like I'm on the right track for prepping. Thanks again!

Ummmm, what new contract, and what pay rates are you talking about?!
No TA exists, we could still be years from an agreement.....

"I want a $300k/yr career with a multimillion dollar retirement. I have a restricted atp, low time, and no college degree".

Is this serious?

Oh that's right I was thinking we were compensated at industry standard, never mind, you probably have a shot.

Howdy! Couple questions for the ladies and gents here. I'm a current regional captain looking to move on to an airline i can see myself staying for the rest of my career. (30+ years) I live in East Texas and my airline doesn't have a base here so not wanting to commute for the rest of my life. I don't care to work for a major if my qol at spirit over time will payoff sooner. Also seems like the new contract y'all are working on will be be nothing for people to stick their noses up at.. Anyone have an idea what first year pay will be? Is Spirit better than what I'm currently doing and are the majority of guys and girls happy at spirit and not wanting to leave (besides the contract which seems to be working itself out soon)? Thanks! Droops

$80/ hr starting is what NC felt was standard earlier this yr. Late last yr the ask was $70/ hr. As others sign, our ask follows. I'd love for Alaska to get a JCBA, or JetBlue ASAP. Last year retro ask was laughed at. Now the emails say we are asking for retro. And not just on pay...

Hmmm very interesting.. I'm listening. Just grateful to have a chance to interview at the end of this month. Hope they'll have some more scoop on what'll go down with this thing.

I went to one of the meet and greet the chief pilot events. Very relaxed shoot the breeze type event that costs nothing to go do. Highly recommend everyone go to one if they ever do them again. Great guys!
