Interview...

Hello
Hi everyone. I am a CRJ 900 Captain at Mesa Air Group. I am 32 years old. I got hired at Mesa a little over 11 years ago. Wow I was 21 years old, time flies! I recently went to my second interview at Spirit Airlines. I did an interview prep this time and had 4 internal recommendations. 2 of which were my co pilots a few years ago. I just got the thanks but no thanks today and I am litterally crushed. My first interview with Spirit was in September and I did not have a four year degree but was working on it. I finished my four year at the end of May and went to the second Spirit interview July 7th. I am on here in hopes of finding anything to help me get on with any major now. I have almost 9,000 total time and have a clean record. I have never failed any check rides or training. Seems the thing I am good at failing is getting a job at Spirit. I honestly didn't apply any where else but now considering it. I feel like a major loser.

Maybe they figured you were over-qualified and had too much upward mobility and were a flight risk. Perhaps it's a blessing in disguise. Put your stuff out to everyone, and go from there. Best of luck!

dont feel bad, we are mainly hiring RJ first officers with zero tpic(less likely to leave), you are over qualified for us

Hey Mooney,

Sorry to hear about your experience, but as they say when one door closes another opens... If you don't mind, what is it that makes you feel so strong about Spirit?

Good luck in your search.

Got an email that my spirit app is incomplete. I need to fill out a page with certificate, flight times, etc. Just went through the application process on three different web browsers though and no where does this page come up. Should I make a new profile? Am I missing something?

I got the TBNT email too and was pretty down for a while. The interview went really well; lots of fun. My best guess is it was a huge interview group with lots of well qualified people. Unfortunately I was probably the youngest one there. I have no TPIC, but that's the worst looking thing on my resume. Like you, clean record, easy going.. Maybe they thought I was what people on here describe as a 'flight risk.' That's too bad because I wouldn't have wasted their time if I didn't feel like I'd retire from there.

Lacking experience in the reapplication process, does anyone think it's a good idea to try to get the 6 month-reapply waived to less time? Even possible?

Really, really don't let it get you down. Anyone with access to our seniority list can show you how quickly we're losing Captains off the top of the list and FO's off the bottom. My seniority is going up at an astonishing rate. I'm sure Sandy and her crew are looking for anyone they think can probably pass training but couldn't get hired anywhere else in the next two years. Apparently the recent WN interview classes have looked like NK recurrent training events. I suspect our attrition is only going to get worse with the recent lack of progress on a TA.

A rejection from NK right now should not feel like a real rejection. This place has little positive going for it and the guys we're not hiring now are a reflection of us and most certainly not you.

Apply to WN and enjoy life brother. I may need a LOR from you soon.

God loves you! That's why he just saved you from a horrible mistake, twice.

Has anyone heard the rumor about Spirit starting a flow agreement with GoJet?
