If it takes five years from every amendable date to negotiate a new contract why sign 5 year contracts? How about a 3 year length?

Anyone have any reason to believe that things might actually be different this time. Indigo is not pulling the strings this time and it's a much much different negotiating environment. Anyway the strike worked because spirit pilots made shiit shiit money before this contract unless you were at 150% ***** with 2 days off

Here's the link for it... You need to log in to your ALPA account to access it...

No email at all. Not in my Junk folder either. Still waiting.
No waiting required, here is the link. The survey is very important. Please everyone take the time to fill it out. Use the comment section to clarify any and every concern you have.

I would recommend putting the comments in a word file in case the link times out or your fat fingers accidentally hit the wrong button of each page to continue. (That hurt to retype 1000 characters).

I never got the ALPA survey in my email either. Thanks for the link here whoever posted it initially.

Back to my lurking ways.

There is some good sense spoken right there.

I've been lurking a long time, it's contract time now.

It's difficult to make out the good guys from the bad, what with all the chaf aloft. All I know for sure is that I will go to LAS on the 23rd and do my part to stay involved. I am fortunate to have that day off, not so fortunate to live anywhere near LAS, but I'm showing up anyway because it's important.

Let's keep informed, ask questions and speak up when the opportunity presents itself (as in this survey).

Let's keep our eye on the target and not drag each other down with internal strife that benefits no one.

I don't know about you, but my read of the ALPA C&BL's says that the MEC (Master Executive Council) makes decisions, the MEC Chairman executes those decisions.
Reading comprehension isn't your forte, is it?
I am fully aware of the duties and responsibilities of both MEC chair and status reps. Nowhere in the C&BL does it require the MEC chair to mislead the membership. I never said anything about the chair making policy, just being honest about the decisions of the mec. I have never used the acronym MEC in reference to the chair position. Fifth grade English, my friend - Unfrigginbelievable!

Point of information- I may still have a copy of the resolution from April of that year which sought to amend the policy manual and allow for Council bypass. As I recall it was ruled too late to make the agenda. Just want to make sure history reflects that there was an attempt and there was much discussion at the time.

It's embarrassing to read this thread. It's not about what happened in 2006 or 2010 or who is 26% or who is a socialist or who is fighting for power. It's about unity! Now stop acting like a bunch 16 year old girls bad mouthing each other's outfits and start acting like a unified group.

More money, more retirement, more time off, REAL LTD, job protection (SCOPE!). You all can get behind those things right? Now keep your eye on the prise and stop this nonsense. It's toxic.
