I'm in that class as well. The hotel info they sent me looks like there is a publix like a mile away.

Also, a couple of places close to the Crowne that he said were cheap and also good to eat at were Lester’s, a Greek place and Anthony’s Pizza.

When I was at the Crowne for training there was a fridge and microwave in the room. Also if you walk out of the Crown and go west down Marina Mile there is a good German restaurant down there about a mile, not super cheap but pretty good. Also there is a strip mall down there that has a dunkin donuts and probably another grocery store. Also if you have a car and are up for a little adventure Tarks in Dania Beach, decent cheap seafood, and some interesting people. It's in an old gas station, the wife and I went one night good food, and the people are colorful, the guy we were sitting next to at the bar told us all about how the govt controls the hurricanes with antenna towers. Congrats and Welcome!

Sadly the Crowne Plaza is not great for training. Crews will stay at the Hyatt House and Place AFTER training, which is ironic, because those places have nice little mini kitchens which would have been perfect in long term initial.
Crowne Plaza has a nice pool for studying at night but it is a ways from everywhere. Publix is a mile away and they do not have a shuttle to take you, hopefully you have classmates who have a car or you can do the walk there and back in between afternoon showers.
In the Publix shopping center there is a sports bar that has 2 for 1 drinks all of the time, great place to watch a game and grab a few drinks.
Anthony's Coal Fire pizza is next to the hotel, its very good. Pizza is great and they have good beer to choose from.
