4000 hours TT in the regionals is low time, these days. It's hard to build 4000 hours in fighters or flying off a boat, though.

That's not the case anymore, so I've heard. Or it's being ignored by both the company and the union, at least.

More than half the interviewees recently, had plenty of experience in heavier equipment.
With upcoming upgrades in as soon as 2-3 years, they are looking to hire folks who are ready to be in the left seat yesterday...

Where did you hear/see Virgin lowering their mins? I don't even see a job posting on their web site.

I came here with less than 4000TT, that was after 14 years of flying in the AF. Hard for military to get close to that time.

I saw the 4000 hour requirement in the contract, but like you said, I guess that can get ignored. Maybe 4000TT for insurance requirements?

New training Director and Standards. Doesn't say where he comes from, but has to be the candidate from VX.

Internal company communication. 2,500 total will be the new minimum when the hiring window opens up.

More of a catastrophic engine failure. Completely blew out the entire low pressure turbine and nozzle, you could see the back of the compressor section. A friend showed me a pic, very unusual. I assume the smoke was from residual bleed air fed through cabin before engine was secure in the air.

What is up with people these days and their cellphones/social media?

'We're on fire, love you.'

I understand the average John Doe doesn't understand engine fires/failures and that an aircraft can still fly and land. But sending that message to the wife will induce more panic and stop time for her until she hears from you again. Why do that to her? You should tell your family you love them before you go out on a trip anyway. This kind of thing will just induce more panic and more lawsuits.
