Do all of us dislike each other as it appears? Over on the internal spiritpilotboard, they got quite a****ing contest going on. I didn't expect this kind of environment when I interviewed.

No one trusts the union, the union is oppressive, old management wants to get back to power, can't make any 200%, too many people making 200%, too many people making sweetheart deals, not enough sweetheart deals for me, tng dept syoucks and is full of suck up's, tng dept is great because of straightforward check rides (I'm down with that one, luv those std PC's), blah, blah, blah, yada, yada, yada!

I'm still happy to be here, just wonder why all the angst? Where are all the leaders?

Like any company pilot forum, complaining is what ya do :). Sure some things could be improved, but such is life. I have yet to meet/fly with anyone who is as miserable or disgruntled that the Spirit Pilot board would have you believe.

Orbit, old news....But it doesn't represent the GREAT majority of us, that board just like this one has always had the recurrent pro-agaisnt company and pro-agaist union people...Anything will spark flame.

I speak for myself, and after 5 1/2 years I'am as happy as the first day in training...

Just unplug mate!

Hope this helps.

Sailor.

Great advice Sailor !!

An internet forum such as this one or other airline specific ones always attract the far edges of the pilot group.

Think about it - UAL has roughly 12000pilots and about the same number of people post on UAL threads as they do on SPA threads.

Could someone save me the time of reading through 600 + posts and tell me where new hires / junior guys can expect to be based?

Puckett81 07-23-2013 12:55 PM

Ultralight - Plan on being in Atlantic City for 1-3 months. They said at the fair this weekend that currently, almost all pilots are in the base of their choice within about 6 months.

Initially, about a 75% shot you will go to base of choice, after 3 months, pretty much 100% shot. If you are the the bottom third of your class, expect ACY on paper, you may not even have to go there by the time you get out of training

Joey I sent you a reminder PM.
