You get a rental car (might have to share one with your sim partner) if you go to sim training in MIA too.

Thanks for the heads up!

Thats pretty convenient.

I did notice on my travel plans that I am booked in the same hotel from Monday to April 23rd, I guess that's always subject to change

MIA hotel is a Fairfield Inn primarily but we do use a Crowne Plaza as an alternate. Basically in Little Havana just south of the airport, hence the references to all the Cuban food/coffee.

There are two things of infinite supply in Dade County: Cuban food and drug stores.

No, you need to check in and they should check your passport for the jumpseat. AA has a messed up way of listing crew, it called a meal listing. What is generated from the id90 site is not a meal, so they need to correct it at the gate and then put you on the standby list.

There is also a Marriot and Courtyard right behind our hotel. They have a sports bar in the Courtyard that has some good deals. I'm pretty sure they give us a discount because the Fairfield is part of the Marriot chain. You'll always find an Atlas crew there.

What's up with Capt's that 'guard' the rudder trim during TO roll? If you lose an engine you prob need that hand to apply TOGA power. Trimming should be the least of your worries at that point, how about fly the plane first? I don't get it

I don't know. I've seen FOs do it. When I asked why, the answer was "I have nothing better to do with that hand". The capt. however should have that hand on the throttles at that point.
