I'll keep that in mind forgot, only certain people can have opinions

It just gets old, no pun intended, hearing about "how bad" NK is.. If it sucks that much, move on! Someone that was hired back in the mid 90's could have/should have moved on (during that time frame) to places like; B6 SWA, etc....

BTW: pretty sure I've earned the right to have an opinion.

I didn't say you can't have an opinion, or that your opinion is wrong. I gave you a few reasons a mid nineties hire might have stayed at Spirit. Reasons that might make you or someone else show some empathy.

J. “Day” means a period of time from the hours of 0001 to 2400 based upon the local time of a pilot's domicile.

Many pairings are not paid correctly. Check your pairings and see if you have a 0000 show time on your first day. On a multi day pairing, Spirit owes you an additional 4.5 hours of pay. Even if they change your show time, they still owe you because that's the pairing you were awarded. If the company will not comply, you will need to grieve it.

Unfortunately that's not correct. I wish it was. Per the CBA, you are paid a minimum 4.5 per duty day, not per calander day. This is also why a redeye turn pays 5 ish hours instead of 9.

There is a Vegas pairing that goes to msp which pays 9 hours instead of the 6:40 block flown. All the flying takes place on the same day but you report at 23:40 for a 00:25 departure. Same thing.

Yes, but there is an overnight, so two duty periods.

Yeah, just like the multi day pairing I described in my original post. So you made my case for me. Thanks!

Ok. I'm not going to argue with you about it. I'm telling you that minimum pay is based on number of duty periods. It has absolutely nothing to do with calendar days. If you don't believe me you are more than welcome to call your rep or file a grievance.

Scott, the only one talking "calendar" days is you. My post made no mention of it. The contract language I cut and pasted made no mention of it either. You do what you like of course. I'm gonna get paid.

By the way, 0000 also takes a day off from a pilot. Technically, a 15 day off line is now a 14 day off line.

This is my first ever posting on APC, hope it's not too crass. . .

Are there any former Comair pilots at Spirit who might be able to offer a hand getting a soon-to-be out-of-work (thanks Delta) Comair pilot on at Spirit? I've had my sights set on Spirit (even before Delta's decision to shut Comair down), but I'm having difficulty breaking through. Thanks in advance . . .
