Well, it's a little difficult for me to piece together the whole history here but if Amongero says he will clean up the mess I'm inclined to support him.

Another school of thought might be that Spirit pilots owe the previous MEC for giving up countless hours doing obviously thankless work that positioned the airline to hire you.
I'd suggest flying the line, volunteering for some ALPA grunt work, and knock off the flame-baiting.

Got a voicemail from scheduling at 3am this morning wondering if I was "interested" in LAS to PDX tonight. No mention of JM and I just checked open time and there is nothing in there. There is only one RSV for today, I hope someone didn't get suckered into straight pay.
You will be transferred.
I've used two so far this year (why wouldn't anyone wait until DOS 2 to take vacation and JM's? just my way of thinking) and both required the phrase "it's all about the Benjamins".
Again, I believe your point was hijacked.
Unrelated, what comes from Oklahoma?

Are you certain a probationary pilot should be insulting the previous MEC?

As to doing work that positioned the company to hire me....well all that could mean is a concessionary contract that gave the company money to grow. Is that what you meant? If so, then I hope we do better next time around.
Volunteering? When I am off probation I'll be there.

MEC chair does not set policy, that's the status rep's job. Chair is simply an administrator, that's why the position is appointed by the MEC, not elected by the members. Without a change in status reps, it is unlikely that policy will change.

Just how is he going to do that?

Just read over on airliners that a computer problem grounded all flights today for a few hours. I saw the emails from IT but deleted them because they are usually junk. Anyone on the line have more details?
