Spirit of NKS

I'm just pleased that someone has a different opinion than the 10 or so guys on the double secret spirit pilots board. Like this guy: The Truth is out There
I was wondering what he has been doing with his time since he was run out of town on a rail.

That being said I understand a new hire FO being goaded into acting as a pawn for either management or his senior brothers.
The naivete shown by the call for a more intimate relationship with "our current Management Team" is surprising.
Where in there does he call for a more intimate relationship with our current management team? All I see is a call for cautious discussion and a pledge to hold the line against concessions.
Not withstanding the excellent people skills of the DO, CP, and DOT they actually have less experience protecting their own certificate in the Spirit route system than many junior FO's at Spirit.
They are errand boys, sent by grocery clerks, to collect a bill.
That bill is your seniority number. Make no mistake about it.

Respectfully...
We must agree to disagree. I called you last week to get your take on the situation, we've flown together, and if lean your head back and imagine a nasal voice droneing on and on you'll know who I am.
Here's to the good and clean fight!
Ps
I knew the Apocalypse Now quote would draw you out... What do the Geeks say?
PWNED! Ba ha ha!

FWIW, I've never been one for prostitutes. Any chick that could've very well been with the likes of you a couple of hours before doesn't do much for me. I do know the guy you mentioned though, and I didn't mind flying with him. What he does on his days off is his business.
Back to my original question Waldo- what are you so afraid of?

You called me to ask if you could attend one of my gettogethers and I said yes. I don't remember any level of disagreement.
I've never seen more than snippets of Apocalypse Now. Can't stand those post Vietnam era protest movies, so the quote didn't draw me out. In fact, I don't know which was the quote. As for Geeks, please explain.
Oh yeah, why didn't you show up? You told me going in that you were loyal to Frank and I told you that my presentations were not "anti Frank" and that you and anyone else was welcome. You choose not to meet up, but now you're "agreeing to disagree", I still want to know about what we disagree.

It seems folks (on these forums) tend to take sides then defend their points until they get farther apart rather than work towards agreement.
That's why I called and talked to you personally. I read what was posted here with all the negative personal crap from both sides and felt it was a professional courtesy to talk to you directly. I believed you when you said these were not "Frank Bashing" sessions.
He has been a colleague, mentor, and friend for well over a decade. I will go to great lengths to defend him.
I have been to Herndon several times, own and read the Constitution and Bylaws, and carry a copy of the contract on me electronically. If I have questions about " why doesn't Article 8 apply" in any particular instance I call my reps.
Absolutely nothing personal but a 50 mile mile drive in the rain on a Sunday afternoon versus my couch, dog, TV bud light and a pizza.
Specifically we disagree on is the relative term "New Hire FO".
I also read Alan's statement "our union has become to adversarial with the company and its new management team".
We disagree on that apparently. I believe it naive at best and dangerous at worst.
Shoot, wait another year and a half the "New Management Team" will take their rightful place as junior FO's and or move on to 36th street.

Sorry I should have used the quote feature but was replying from my phone which is frustrating at best.

My only objection to your original point about Alan's letter being naive is that you characterized it as "call(ing) for a more intimate relationship with management" and I disagree with that characterization. No where does he call for a more intimate relation with management. I'm not at all defending his accusation of being too adversarial. If I'd written the letter, I'd have accused them of being too close. That's two smilie thingys there for those of you who never get any inflection from the words.

Travis Wheat sent out a letter to the group. I was very impressed with it. This one line says it all: "Having worked with Frank since taking office in March I have never seen any conduct from him that would warrant a recall or was detrimental to our pilot group. In fact, I’ve always known Frank to be of high moral character and integrity." Ok, so it was 2 lines but the message is there from the FO Rep himself.

I also am very impressed with Travis' letter.
This line at the end hit home with me...
"A unified body is the only way to enforce contract compliance and make improvements to our CBA while preparing ourselves for the future challenges that are sure to await. "
Thanks Travis
