The transition hurts I would summize- but it's hurting a little less as they are figuring out ways to overcome this "handicap".

Regarding ten aircraft, concessions, etc..................
This ain't about ten airplanes or concessions. The problem is that our elected reps knew nothing about the companies offer/request for discussion. Our reps found out about it well after the fact.
Either the reps are derelict or the officers are way out of line. Either way this is a very disappointing situation.
FWIW, I agree with the no concessions for airplanes sentiment. I still would have liked to have had my reps in on the discussions.

All those relief lines you saw in the bid package? That's where your opentime went throughout the month. The transition language puts the vices on during the first few days of every month, but after that they are covering most (all) of the flying by building it into the relief schedules. That transition language is also why you see a dump of new time into the pot around mid-month for the last few days of that month- they're getting smarter and are exercising their ability to remove pilots with conflicts on their awards from the END of the month.

Agreed, the MEC should have mention this to us via email, whether it was important or not, just to hear it from our MEC and not public forums.
Sailor.

As I said, either the MEC (your four elected reps) is derelict in their responsibility to oversee their officers, or the officers way overstepped their bounds.
We elect status reps, who make up the voting members of the MEC, to represent us and make decisions on our behalf. They then elect an officer corp to be their executive branch, to do their business with the company. But the authority rests with the elected pilot representatives and those reps have an obligation to provide guidance to and oversight of the officers. IOW, the officers work for the MEC.
When the company presents an officer with a proposal, the officer should present that proposal to the MEC for consideration and a decision.
It appears (with near certainty) that the MEC was never presented with the ten airplane offer.
It should have been, absolutely should have been presented.
AGAIN, I speak only to the process that led to the rejection, not the issue of airplanes for concessions. I agree completely that we should not make concessions for airplanes. An even exchange should be considered, or an uneven exchange if we get more than we give should be considered, but NO WAY should we give anything more than we get.

Still, there are no excuses for lack of communications. Mainly for 3 reasons, how important this is, how much emphasis was put on communications before-during-after the strike and specially today having all kinds of devises.
I am nobody to judge, but good communication between all of us is essential.
Cheers.

So... is the 10 airplane just rumor or fact? If it is fact then yes, lack of comm. on our union (bad). If rumor well... we all know that is part of this little airline's culture and it can be used to divide us as well as inform us.

Hmmmm. Sounds like time for an other MEC update
The truth, that would straighten everything out, right?

It's a little bit of both from what I've found out. And yes, a word from the MEC would be appropriate. Something should come out this week I'm told. I'll let the proper party take the proper steps before I go into detail.
