Default Crash pads?

Anyone with info on FLL crashpads please PM me. I am looking to get one set up for January. Thanks! Other housing options might also work, let me know what you have in mind.

Thanks.

Anyone know how training has been going for the recalls?

A little bird told me 6 people quit recall class so the Feb vacancy bid is cancelled. YGTBSM. Can't someone from Miramar go stand on the street in little Haiti with a sign "Seasonal Labor needed". I'll just sit back and watch the show.

So far so good. Really laid back. The ground portion is alittle much for just 3 days but nothing you haven't seen or done before. The SITs, and PTs are simple. Same as before get to know the systems and procedures. Half of our class took their PCs today. I don't know the outcomes but the rest of us will take ours in 4 days.

An email went out on Thursday basically cancelling the March system bid due to lack of people coming back. Not sure what the problem was exactly. 10 recalls on the bid but I do believe some of those are not returning. This should make room for more new hires, as Bored said before the Jan. 31st class is rumored to be full and they are already looking into more classes.

I dont believe the bid was cancelled. It seems as if it was decreased to account for the empty positions not filled due to a lower than expected return rate from the furloughees. Didnt it say in the email that the positions would be reposted in the next bid next month? Dont worry about it, just means a few more new hires.

They quit or just never showed up?

The class hasn't started yet, so I'd guess quit.

Funny you mentioned "seasonal labor"; I believe that's how Spirit management sees pilots. Why else would they have hired and furloughed so routinely in the past?

Maybe if they hadn't been so heavy-handed with their come-back-now-or-resign, there would've been more returning. It seems to me that it will cost the same money and time to train a new-hire later in 2011 as it would've cost for a returning furloughee.

Your supposition infers that NK has some desire to be a good corporate citizen. NK has no such aspirations.

Additionally, I think the returning guys accrued some longevity while furloughed. Not much of a cash difference, but remember, we are talking about a company that charges three bucks for a bottle of water. And, for a few years, removed 1/2 - 2/3 of the lighting at HQ to save money.

I doubt he's saying that.

On a side note, I just woke up from a dream where a shiny blue bulldozer drove down from Queens, demolished HQ and everyone went scurrying like cockroaches. Then I got to live in NY and drink all the dunkin donuts coffee I wanted.

Maybe dreams come true.
