No, I'm not one of the people they can't get a hold of. I talked to them last week and also sent them an email stating my preference. I haven't gotten anything in my company email but maybe it's because I already told them my pref.
Hopefully I haven't fallen out of the loop.

Great video, too bad you cant do anything about it, got to learn to live with it, and try again in 5-7 years. Get over...but nice job on the A/V.

I believe this statement is incorrect. Only those on the bottom of the list (the most junior dozen or so) are subject to the mandatory call for an early December class currently. However, given the projected schedule for future ground school dates, all of those on the list should anticipate a mandatory recall within the next 3 months, if not sooner. Every remaining furloughed pilot has bypassed multiple recalls, so it is highly likely that many may choose not to come back.
If 'gatorbird' is correct, than it appears that Spirit may start interviewing to establish a pool as well. Perhaps they intend to 'mandatory' a dozen pilots @ a time (there are only about 36 guys or so left on furlough, or 3 classes worth), and then backfill the remaining slots with street hires. The mandatory guys require 14 days notice. You can tell a street hire 'now or never' and probably get a few to go for it - seniority over future classes and an Airbus 320 PIC type rating can be a motivator. Because all of the current furloughed pilots have been out for over 2 years, they would require a longer training course, which could be more easily integrated with new hire training.
Regardless of whether I'm right or not, those looking to join Spirit will likely see an opportunity shortly.

New-hires may be required for classes as soon as Jan 3rd depending on how many choose not to return.

Ah yes, it sure is easy to hide behind a screen name on an anonymous forum. Casting stones on his first post, no less!
FWIW, Spirit hired somewhere around 150 pilots between Fall of 2006 through Spring of 2008. The net aircraft gain was negligible; the difference was efficiency of airframe use. It looks like that's how several of our new routes will be worked in, at least until May: night turns with aircraft that would sit idle otherwise.
I guess we should be expecting Throwthebumsout's resume any day now.

New cities start in Feb. We have two aircraft deliveries in Jan and one in Feb. "GROWTH" in 2011 is scheduled for 25%. You seem to be quite ignorant, yet you toss around flamebait about our contract. Nice try.
