The rumor around the b*tch board (aka spirit pilot board) is that a to be announced airbus order of 20-30 may possibly be for NK and talks of the fabled ONT base has been resumed. Now I do know that spirit pilot board, a forum that has the same 6 or 7 people complaining about everything that is spirit, our mec, our new contract, and anything else related to spirit, is probably not the best source of info. There has been some good intel from there from time to time tho. Just seeing if anyone else on here, what I consider a more balanced forum, has heard anything related to this.

I've heard the same.... but won't believe it till they are sitting on the ramp! Let's hope that it is true:-) All the guys on the Big "F" would be called back shortly :-) and more hiring could happen as well.

Good point Scott. You know how us furloughees feed on the rumor mill though. Any glimmer of growth news that could get us back gets us hopeful. I should know better after hearing "recalls are just around the corner" 4 or 5 times over the past two years, that the only credible way we know were coming back is when were putting the trust levers in the FLX detent. Just keep us in the loop with the credible intel. Thanks buddy.

BBB stated on Spirit TV today that the company plans on getting 5 A320s next year. He says that three will arrive early in 2011; the remaining two will arrive near the end of 2011.
Five airplanes is significantly different than "one aircraft per month starting this September."

Well, the three buses coming the beginning of next year will get all you guys back on property, then some hiring to be done after that. I would think recalls in November, with everyone back by Jan/Feb.

I hate to be a pessimist, but we got four aircraft, and virtually no recalls so far this year.
In the road show powerpoint presentation, I believe the number of crew that the company wanted to get to with increased efficiencies was 6.47 per seat/per aircraft. So we are looking at a total of about 13 crew per aircraft, if the company utilizes efficiencies as they hope.
13 x 32 aircraft (by Sept 2010) = 416 (below current numbers already on property)
13 x 34 aircraft (by Feb 2011) = 442 (below current numbers already on property)
13 x 35 aircraft (by early 2011) = 455 (the current number on property)
13 x 37 aircraft (by the end of 2011) = 481
We still have 509 on the seniority list. That still leaves almost 30 on the furlough list at the end of 2011.
I am not trying to ruin anyone's day...but I am tired of the false hope. Do I think they are going to utilize all these efficiencies? No....But I also think management will try to get as close to that 13 (crew per aircraft) number as possible, as quickly as possible.
I am still on that furlough list. When that call comes..it comes. I am tired of getting wrapped up in the hype.
