It is 30 days per the contract. If the classes are in May and June, I would assume the vacancy bid will be effective June 1st. With the next one effective July 1. That has been the past practice with other recalls. We may not see a vacancy bid until next month at the latest.

Rumors are Rumors. I will believe it when I see it.

For those of us who don't live in South Florida, anything new or unexpected at the meetups this week? Would be nice to get updates via the MEC website....but.....

Recalls will happen when the contract is settle. It makes sense for them. Numbers change every other week.

Actually im not sure they have anything to do with each other. They aren't going to sign a contract until they are forced to by the REAL threat of a strike, and that's not going to happen until the NMB gets off their back sides and makes a decision. We have no way of knowing when that decision will come, and neither does the company.
Recalls will happen when the company decides they dont have enough crew to operate. They are continuing to run this place as lean as possible, and it is evident by the lines for April that we are getting to a breaking point. The average line value is up over 81 hours now, with most of the lines in FLL having close to min days off. So, if the block increases that I have seen for May and June do in fact become a reality, I believe they will have to increase staffing for the summer.
