Hard to second-guess these guys, but it is hard for me to see them not recalling in the near future. IMO, recalls are more tied to marketing/
routes/ticket sales than the actual arrival dates of new airplanes.
I also heard they will try to do the 85hr/13dayoff squeeze for awhile. But they still have to comply with contractual limitations and reserve coverage, and we have to hold them to it. I agree with ALPO, with building very high hour schedules comes more sick calls, as well as little room for anybody picking up the open time. Speaking of picking up open time, maybe it's time to refocus on holding back on that.
It has happened before that the higher ups in management have mis-judged this stuff. We'll see....

I don't get it. tv.spiritair.com says 75 new flight attenendants by June. Im guessing this includes the 45 from March and April. How can you have this many FA's and no pilot recalls? 3 new planes by spring. If they do a recall it has to come out by the 18th I believe per contract. Which is Thursday. Maybe after negotiations this week we should hear something.
I have heard the MX rumors about heavy checks keeping us from being recalled. But why bring back 75 FA's? But then again it is Spirit. So why am I even questioning their madness?

Mgmt is using recalls as weapon against the pilot group to try and gain some leverage in negotiations....and its not working. I want all the guys back just as bad as anyone. If they insist on no recalls unless we cave in at the table thats fine, but at some point there just wont be enough pilots to fly the jets. I can just see marketing handing over the April/May schedule to flight ops and having a major meltdown because of the lack of crew. They increased the block hours again in March with absolutely no increase in staffing, in fact a slight decrease due to attrition. This is a game they simply cant win.
edit: This video does not even load for me. Which is not surprising. Ohh well... It is ok. I had America's Funniest loaded on tivo as backup entertainment. I was just curious if the crooked logo got fixed. Funny guys these managers. I realize now they must have a good sense of humor to qualify for a CEO. I don't recall them teaching this to me in business school but they should have.
