I'm willing to bet its imbedded in the 60 A320neo order placed by GECAS on day one. I was told earlier that one of the chief pilots in recurrent "dangled the carrot" about the order... "we need a TA first."

57 cancellations already today by 2pm est (15% of the system)

and they say they won't offer premium pay to anyone who offers to help..

I wonder if there will be a sad tale put towards negotiators about our dismal numbers of late and how a significant raise just wouldn't be prudent in these challenging times. Let's all pull together and bend over to get Spirit through this mess.

F-them then. This epic disaster is completely their doing. I am sick and tired of being 22 on hold, calling chief pilots, arranging crew van times because of changing schedules and trying to give irate passengers an excuse why this place is a complete embarrassment.
Management wants to run a cheap operation on minimum wage, contract things out, this is what happens. How many millions of dollars is this costing? Their goes our piece of the pie.

Where's our MEC in all of this? No one's holding Bendos' feet to the fire yet. Wondering what he had to say to the investors this week.

Where's the MEC? On hold like the rest of us. What could they possibly say? "Dear fellow pilots, as you are aware, the entire system is caught in a massive $hit-storm..... so pack for your trip accordingly. "

There is always a melt down in June and or July here... Something every single year.

3-4 years ago it was similar to this year, Not staffed correctly, super optimizer where we flew like we were SW pilots with minimal buffer for delays before crews timed out.

2-3 years ago the Seat Fiasco

1-2 years ago the fueling meltdown

Now this this year. Happens every summer... Best plan of action is to take vacation in summer, grab a beer, and text all the poor saps dealing with it from your boat.
