I wish I had you're optimism. I think this will somehow get past the mec and come to a vote of the pilot group as a hole. My fear is that the company will see is resolution as a good thing for the pilots (ha!) and will want some sortof consession in order to go along with it. I wouldnt give up anything to have further restrictions put on me
IF it passes the MEC and IF it passes the membership, and IF the company goes along.... Do you think Sabre, the same company that can't / won't figure out how to put a page break in a flight release, will be able to implement a "24 hour fence" on individual pairings? Please...

On March 6th spamec sent out an email saying they would be meeting with the company the week of the 16th. Anything come from that meeting?

Heck no, the processes will come to a screechin halt just like float time does it. I can only imagine that this 24 hr wait would cause further problems and isnt warranted or needed at all. I cant stress it enough and I think its been said many times everyone has the exact same ability to pick up open time we dont need restrictions or favors for just a few pilots. concentrate on what's important, the upcoming section 6 negotiations not this piddly crap.

I hate when people say upcoming negotiations. The contract is ammendable this August. We should be negotiating now and signing then. Delta signed 6months before their ammendable date in 2012. Grantee they are past their ammendable date for this round. We need to stop expecting 5 year negotiations as norm.

I don't think it's the union's decision to arbitrarily start negotiations anytime, there is a due process, and as everything it takes time. If you were here prior to this contract then you know how it is.
Unity, patience, understanding the process, communication and information are the key to get thru this thing.
