Rockwell Collins Lead Research Company In Single-Pilot Study
The Cedar Rapids (IA) Gazette (3/1) reported Rockwell Collins has been named by NASA Ames as the lead research company for its single-pilot operation study. John Borghese, vice president and director of Rockwell Collins’s Advanced Technology Center, explained that “a co-pilot on the ground rated for the type of aircraft involved would be linked to the plane and assist pilots during” busiest periods. Borghese also said, “We need the involvement of a lot of stakeholders — the airlines, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Air Line Pilots Association and the air traffic controllers.” He added, “This is really research and not product development. We don’t know how this is going to come out.”

Flying from home is soon to follow!
I thought take home ground school was bad enough...
It appears that our pilot group has opposing views on the subject of scheduling "deals" and transparency.
I am hearing that we do not want the union to police pilots, and that indeed should not be the committee's primary focus.
On the flip side, strong opinions have been voiced against systematic abuse, or plain disregard for our work rules.
We need to work this out.

Wow! The new DFW gates are a model for what FLL should be. So much seating and nice. Really keeps the tension of the passengers down. FLL is infuriating for even a passenger that wanted to give spirit a fair shot. Dfw is a breath of fresh air
