The Crowne is a TERRIBLE hotel for new hires and upgrades. The new hires need to be in an extended stay hotel. Anything less is unacceptable. The current new hire class is at the Hyatt House - which I applaud. Hopefully this is not something temporary and remains the norm. Preferably, they should be at an extended stay with a grocery near by or a hotel that will take orders and do their shopping for them.

It seems to me like more vindictiveness from our "friends" in mgmt. They clearly don't like the 4/5 days off, so they'll punish us with utterly non-commutable pairings on both the front and back side. This way we're burning those valuable days off trying to get to work/ home from work. Another win for them.
Tell me again how we're "friends flying friends?"

Btw pbs doesn't change this so it's not a ploy to get pbs either. You are still working with the same pairings.
You can't actually believe this. The pairing build is designed to do one thing only and that's fly the schedule with the lowest possible crew cost. If it can do that with late shows and early finishes it will. Due to schedule frequency or whatever factor, that is not possible in some bases while still solving for lowest crew cost. 4/5 days off has nothing to do with early show/late finish pairings.

No, I don't. Sometimes it's fun to toss a grenade and see the ensuing nonsense unfold around here. Lot's of conspiracy theorists in this thread.

Reps were called, discussions were had, we're still not optimistic.
Ben has "I busted my own buddies (NWA Mechanics) union" Bendoveritis and we got Mike "i wrote a contract to help my seniority block" Platypus. Tell me again what we have to be optimistic about.
Oh bow I love thee, let me count the ways! Six reps scared of their own shadow, five reps with nothing but RJ airline experience, four negotiators with no accomplishments, three MEC Officers with dreams of ALPA National jobs, two ex-reps in charge, and one failed contract behind them all. Absolutely, we got countless reasons to be optimistic.

My offer to call stands. Even if it means 18 hours a day are spent. This is what I signed up for.

Found this article,
Airline Investors: Don't Underestimate Spirit Airlines' Big Growth Plans (JBLU, SAVE)
less interested in the article than the comment by the "financial guru" at the bottom that says this
"Based on current guidance, Spirit is on pace to earn a profit of about $500,000 per pilot this year. It could raise pilot compensation by $100K per person and still earn a pre-tax margin of more than 20% (better than any of the majors)."

Want to have a quotable discussion? NKPilots and you got yourself a conversation. Or email me. You can quote all you want. But I'm not screaming from the highest mountain what's going on for management to know. Will they find out? Yup. I'm not going to give it to them on a silver platter.

Once again, why is it my responsibility to wring information from my reps? If there is reason to be optimistic, send one email to the 109 list. I don't see how 300 phone calls are somehow more secure than an email. Any mole that would forward an email to management would surely take notes and send the info anyway. Here is a news flash for you, whatever you know, whatever you think is a big secret, they thought of before you did. One of the many things that suck in your position is that you are trying to play poker with all your cards on the table.

Or why not utilize the p2p committee?
Do we have one of those? I haven't run into a p2p member yet, so my chances of running into one today are pretty slim. My chances of checking my email today are 100%. Why make communication so difficult?
If communication was truly a priority, email would be the way to go. Five minutes, hit send and you're done. Instead we get "call me, I'll fill you in" knowing most won't call / leave a message / wait for a return call. It's almost like they don't want the info out there.
