Pro Standards is in constant contact with management. I never liked it and tried to change it - to no avail. In my opinion, Pro Stds should NEVER interact with management on anything other than general basis. The last I heard, and it could have changed but I don't think so, Pro Stds gets the CP call when management has a small problem (doesn't reach the formal NOI level) with a particular pilot . Pro Stds acts like secret agent man when it comes to pilot to pilot interactions, but then engages in secretive conversations with management. That is just not the way I think Pro Stds should work. Pro Stds should be a pilot to pilot intermediary, not a management to pilot enforcer.

Agreed! A wise FO once told me, "the first time you hear a story, is just the first time you heard the story". You'll hear it again, don't make up your mind until you've heard it multiple times from multiple sources.

I have and wear a nice north face windbreaker all weather jacket on overnights. Not when working because it, by nature of being different than everyone else's attire, is not UNIFORM.
That style of jacket is the uniform at Virgin, therefore it is uniform. When a crew comes up with 6 different styles of dress it doesn't look serious. It looks like a joke.
I'm sure you look sharp in your windbreaker but....
I flew with a captain who is a pleasure to fly with, friendly, sharp and a great pilot but wears those damn black reeboks.....

Back in the day, this would have been dealt in the prkn lot with the former pro-standards officer, a 25lbs lead pipe.
As we grow snitching if becoming a more frequent thing.
I would check your story first before posting something like that. Maybe even ask the guy. If you did he would tell you that he went to pro-standards first who than turned his name and the captains name over to the Cp.

But you are correct we all should check with the perpetrator before posting anything, after all this may become a rumor board.
Not gonna lie. I'm sporting a NorthFace jacket, but only because it's wintertime. The places we go this time of year the leather jacket just doesn't cut it.
However, the Four Striper wearing white socks? Or a backpack? What are we, back at the regionals, flying a Barbie Jet?
Or the guy who walks around in his leather flight jacket after work... While still sporting the epaulettes?
(All the same guy, incidentally...)
Nice. Real professional.

NorthFace is not allowed just like gold stripes are not allowed. Have to be consistent, can't pick and choose.

Leather jacket - because the issued blazer fits like it was sewn by a pet monkey.
