That is probably a good plan for your friend. Find a new job that provides them happiness. Perhaps you should consider the same. Find your own happiness without trying to throw barbs at UAL. There are a lot of spirit pilots coming to UAL. Hate to see you poison the reputation of the group as a whole. If you represent the average attitude of the the Spirit pilots I hope we take a hard pass on hiring more of your group.

I don't think that the legacies look at short term overcapacity as a bad thing. They can flood the market with seats and bleed much longer than the low cost competition. When that low cost competition either fails or backs out, the legacies will be in place to meet that demand at higher ticket prices resulting from increased competition for the available seats until the new normal stabilizes.

Wasn’t the ULCC model designed to undercut the legacy carriers? Seats dumped at low prices to try and get market share. Why is it wrong for the legacy carriers to compete with the ULCC with basic economy tickets?
