National seniority would only work if they set a starting date and said any new, first time 121, pilots are operating under national seniority, existing pilots continue under the current system until retirement... Actually, no, that would really work either. Its never gonna happen.

1) Why would current 121 union pilots even bother to waste their time doing that? It would cost some negotiating capitol and there's not even a consensus that it would be a good thing. If it is a good thing, you'd be wasting NC to benefit CFI's, student pilots, kids in middle school etc.
2) Airlines would not like it.
3) For some RLA reason we aren't even allowed to have one big union, so that would probably have to be changed first.
As you say, never gonna happen.

“To the victor goes the spoils”. Pick the right horse and the career will work out fine, otherwise, there will be a starting over point. It is what it is, as a NK guy moving on I don’t like going back to year 1 at the bottom, but this was the risk when I went to Spirit
Likewise because I took a risk on Spirit, and the possible upside, I would not like other pilots from a failed airline coming in over me; whether that means bases, bidding, or higher wages than me.
