September 1st. 260 pilots for the FIRST round of furloughs and pilots will also be displaced.

200 of those are involuntary though. 60 took voluntary furloughs.

The problem NK is suffering from, is having the staff and facilities for 250 airplanes, and only 180 airplanes actually generating revenue. We are over staffed on crews, middle management and a useless hotel type building and empty sim bay.

Just running the AC alone is killing them.
Uh, that's been our problem for the last 5 years?

sounds like poor negotiation with P&W. Boeing paid Alaska more for one door falling off than P&W is paying spirit for all of the affected planes being grounded for 2024.

Bad analogy, since one door parked all their Max-9s.

It’s not like NK came to the table with much leverage.

Haven’t made money since 2019. Explain why we didn’t make money in 2021 and 2022 when everyone else was making billions well before the PW issues. Explain why we deferred the next 2.5 yrs of orders when they will soon start being deliver with good engines.

This business model doesn’t make money. Fixed engines isn’t going suddenly make us profitable.

Maybe they should just turn on the air conditioning 10 minutes before it's time to enter the building?

Do you know if they have sent out the official WARN notices of furlough to the individuals or has it just been the general corporate announcement that 260 needed to be furloughed? I figure that the WARN notices would have to be out or going out very soon to meet the legal requirements of notice.
