I don't think you grasp the significance of the geopolitical relationship between Australia and the US. You're so upset about 0.3% of the pilot group and want them booted out the door without considering how the US benefits from this visa agreement (and that's not to say that the Aussies don't benefit either).
For every Aussie you want to let go, should Australia match it by removing 1 out of 150,000 US citizens currently working in Australia?
Is it worth booting out a handful of Aussies and tarnishing strong bilateral defense ties. The U.S. and Australian forces have fought together in every significant conflict since World War I.
Is it worth it jeopardizing free-trade agreements that have profited the US $230 billion? How about the 250,000 US jobs provided by the Aussies?
I think you need to take a step outside the aviation-industry-bubble and have a look at the big picture. The Aussies aren't our enemy, the real people who should be getting the boot are the individuals on the management team who have allowed this situation to transpire while walking away with $$$ in their pockets.
