Just to let everyone know. Trying to get any job ,let alone a flying in Australia is very difficult if not inpossible. They have very very strict work rules for foreigners.
They protect there own workers , I just wish my goverment would do the same for me

and in any case they are unionized pilots, and they get protection just like you and I do.

Unions in foriegn countries can have vastly different circumstances than here in the US. Don't assume it's the same, some have it better, some have it worse. That's for bus drivers and garbage collectors. For pilots it's usually worse, although in one case at least, a government propped up a failing national airline for many years because the unions refused to take any concessions.

What job protection are you seeking? The majority of pilot jobs in the US already list work authorization (without sponsorship) as a hard requirement, i.e., US citizens and permanent residents. The ones willing to sponsor visas are the exception, not the norm.
Did a foreign pilot "take your job"?
