Spirit of NKS part VII (The final Chapter)
<cue the Matthew McConaughey voice>
all right, all right, all right…Well boys and girls the analyst have weighed in and they reasonably expect bankruptcy filing and asset liquidation by March.
where did Spirit go from here? chapter 11 we re-organize and pull through?
chapter 11 followed by chapter 7 bankruptcy?
take another shot at it with an appeals court?
Ask our ex-girlfriend, Frontier if she wants to get back with us.
or an asteroid hits us and it doesn’t really matter anyways?
what say you?

My guess is a bankruptcy reorganization bringing labor rates (including pilots) back to 2019. I feel like I’ve seen this before (I have). It may or may not keep the company from going under but if history is correct, the pilots will gladly go along hoping for the best due to our seniority system. Then the other airlines will use these new low wages as leverage.

Anybody know Elon Musk? if you do, give him a call bring as much liquor as you can to his house and talk about Spirit... maybe he'll do something dumb after 8 shots and buy NK... other than that and a more realistic option is id be updating the logbook and applying to United, Delta, AA before 3500 other pilots do.

My guess is furloughs are imminent. Chapter 11 near certainty. Chapter 7 liquidation seems little premature at this point. Allegiant or frontier at least explore the possibility of acquisition for the price of a bus fare. Storm clouds on the horizon , but stop short of saying we are gonna end up on the street. It'll be rough for a while but I think theyll find a way to pull thru. Im Nervous but live well below my means so I'll deal with it as it comes.

The problem is is I don’t live within my means. I’m currently trying to sell my Miata (see other post)
and trying to negotiate with one of my girlfriends about her new monthly allowance and it’s not going over very well.

this is the most reasonable thing I’ve actually heard in a while, and I completely agree with you.

It probably won’t but when faced with the whole place going under, pilots have historically chosen the paycuts. With bankruptcy, there has always been paycuts as far as I know. It’s not good for anyone. I think most pilots wanted this merger to go through.
