Take hourly rate and multiple by 1000 for line holders to estimate gross pay. Take home is based on everything else that’s unique to each pilot. Some pilots contribute to 401k, some don’t, medical costs differ, tax withholding etc.
Applying at JBLU would do nothing for your seniority if the merger is successful, you’re at the bottom of both sides, doesn’t matter who you get hired with tomorrow.
Based on what your expectations seem to be, I don’t think you would be happy at any 121 when you learn what reserve is, that we have a contract we follow (no coloring outside the lines to suit your needs) and it’s seniority based progression. So no hanging out with the right people to help move the ball. If you think you’re going to see $250k and quality scheduled within 5 years, doubt it. Maybe if you want a junior base like FLL, but for DTW/ORD (if they survive) longer than 5 years for sure.

That’s a pretty major sized sacrifice compared to 135/91 QOL
So just under a half decade to see the ROI, ouch

Didn’t mean to offend, how do 121 pilots view their flying?
It’s going to be tuff going from freemarket to working with union pilots who the top of the top used to work for .gov before, talking about how they are down to put in hard work…lolz

For the most part, you just show up, fly, go home. No emptying the lav, no coffee ice papers, no catering BS. You don’t have to take the job with you, but some people’s lives revolve around being a pilot. I flew 91 and 135 for 5 years before going 121 and while the flying is more mundane, the safety level is higher and stress level is much lower.

I also did a ton of low level flying, I do some more “extreme” by todays standard hobbies, flying the 135 jet I fly now is one of the more safe things I do in my life lol
All and all, the 121 pay after X years seems **** hot, the retirement at many including spirit is quite nice too, hence why I’m somewhat interested at making the jump down to hopefully end up with a jump up

Tossing some papers on the table and asking for coffee or lav service at the FBO really wasn’t a factor, personally going through a FBO vs a crappy terminal in a crappy city, I’ll happily carry a newspaper or bag of ice lol

Lol
So what did I say that was a issue?
I can be all about the flying and friendly without chugging the proverbial kool aid
Going in eyes wide open is frowned upon or something?
Are you serious HR folks are spending their time reading Internet forums vs talking to their existing pilots and trying to address the lower ranks retention issues?
