they actually have some great rules I would like to see in my contract. Off top of my head is pay for being delayed on go home leg. I think they get more sick time than us too? Not certain on that one. But when the contract came out I had lots of I want that rule in my brain…

I know it’s a Paywall but basically they think this merger deal is dead on arrival.
I mean, I know we have the Biden ministration to deal with but still it’s comes down to a Reagan appointed judge. What am I missing? What do y’all think?

This is the complaint filed by the DOJ against the merger. Ironically they use a lot of the same arguments that NK proposed when they were trying to swing investors to take the Frontier deal. They also extoll the great benefits of the Spirit “unbundled” fare structure for consumers, never once calling the ancillary fees “junk fees” which seems diametrically opposed to how the President seems to describe them. As I said previously, they can’t have it both ways, using the ULCC model as a cornerstone argument to block a merger, but at the same time seek to craft legislation that would limit ancillary fees as misleading junk products that also harm consumers.

Out of principle I still hope JetBlue does not get to acquire Spirit. They panicked when F9/NK merger was announced and were told time and time again, thanks but no thanks. Would be awesome to see the judge tell them to go pound sand, having to pay NK 100M and then we merger and become the largest ULCC in the country. That being said, who know what will happen.

Lol. The Elizabeth Warren’s of the world disapproved a Spirit/Frontier combo as well.

Nobody at NK wants any part of merging with F9, well almost nobody. It’s not personal against the pilots, it’s your overlord, many of us have been there and done that. Never again

You mean Ted and Barry said “thanks but no thanks,” until Ted was able to secure a larger parachute package with JBLU and now he spends most of his days “taking the knee” when Robin says “kneel”.
