Alaska CA-12s are currently looking at $340.25 an hour plus 17% DC. And that’ll be old news at the time of a JCBA.

And a combined B6/NK will be larger than Alaska with more international travel.

Just something for everyone to consider. No excuses for ANYONE, MEC, NC, or the pilots themselves. settling for a mediocre JCBA.

I think you might want to google some news articles about Biden's FTC Chair. This administration is about as categorically opposed to anyone merging with anyone else as I have ever seen. B6/NK will be the best test so far of that stance.

My point about the FTC was prior to the current administration, it’s obvious where the various government agencies are getting their marching orders from.

Okay… but what is Alaska’s work rules like? You left out an important detail.

compensation isn’t the only metric by which you use to thump your chest around your fellow airline peers.

I know it’s a Paywall but basically they think this merger deal is dead on arrival.

I mean, I know we have the Biden ministration to deal with but still it’s comes down to a Reagan appointed judge. What am I missing? What do y’all think?

Seems somewhat arrogant to describe it as "saving" the deal. Saving it would be trying to cobble together something else after the judge ruled against it (i.e. an appeal). We don't live in a country where one branch of government rules by decree in a vacuum, this is the process. They either strike a deal behind the scenes now, or it plays out in court. Lawsuits are always a coin toss, but I think it's 51/49 in our favor. But what the hell do I know.

Never worked there but the fact that they are still bleeding FOs would suggest not very good. If you read their thread that tends to confirm that. But the point is a combined NK/B6 would not be. A minor player that one can argue what “peer group’ it belongs in. A merged SpirBlue will be larger than Alaska which also only flys narrow bodies. If Alaska can pony up that much then nobody can say the JCBA can’t pony up that much. Do we want better QOL work rules? Yeah we do, including monthly base bids, DTZ, and improvements in reserve scheduling and trip scheduling that can help commuters. The point is that the peer group for the payscale for the JCBA isn’t Frontier, Allegiant, Breeze, etc.

Never suggested it was - or that chest thumping was even the goal. The goal is to take advantage of the leverage the environment and the JCBA gives us. Are you opposed to that?

Opinions are like @$$holes - everyone has one. And brokers love to churn people into buying and selling because that’s how they get their fat commissions.
