I know everyone and their dog’s asking this question but, I’m wondering if I would be better off jumping ship? United would be my top choice. I currently commute but, we’re open to moving to base. That was the plan too if I stayed at NK, more than likely ATL, FLL or MCO. In United’s case it would either be IAD or MCO.
Shortly after starting out on the line, I was commuting home and met a senior company pilot also commuting. He saw I was new and asked “So, when’s your class date at XYZ?” I explained my reasons for coming to NK and why I wanted to stay. He laughed and replied “You ain’t gonna be able to drop anything.” I took it with a grain of salt at the time.
Taking into account the seemingly increasing number of denied drops I see on IOT each month for people a lot senior to me, as well as everyone in Florida getting mashed together if/when the JB merger goes ahead, I’m wondering if maybe that
pilot wasn’t completely wrong? Thanks.

Hey y’all. Just passed a year on property here at NK. Came here for the ability to be home more (had kiddo number one last year) and schedule drop (DTZ, red/green). Haven’t had the opportunity to do that stuff quite yet, as I’m still on reserve.

I’m not a spirit fanboy but have been around long enough to know what’s what. If you’re been here a year it appears you don’t know how to bid if you’re still on rsv but what do I know. Go live in base wherever you can. That will do more for your QOL than anything in this biz. If that’s at another airline then that’s what you should do. I’m still at spirit bc I have a lot of seniority to lose by leaving and I live in base. Simple as that.

That said, I would move on. Simply because DTZ as we know it probably won’t stay, though I seriously hope I’m wrong.
Also, IOT isn’t a big deal because you’ll be able to drop when DOT opens up. In my base, everyday was green with the exception of Labor Day weekend. You’ll be fine, man

is this article correct? I thought the date was October 16th when the judge makes a decision not we should hear soon if the merger goes through.
also, when the merger does finally get approved it the stock payment to SAVE shareholders pretty quick or will that be another adventure altogether?

Man o man…….they really gotta be hoping that Judge Young rules in favor of DOJ. Because if not many things will happen but the aforementioned won’t be any of them.
