JetBlue merger
#381
There's been too much consolidation in the airline industry so they can't allow another merger.
Spirit's low fares force the big guys to keep their fares low.
JetBlue doesn't want to be an LCC, they want to join the oligopoly.
Mergers contribute to "regional inequalities" and places like New York benefit at the expense of places like Detroit.
Spirit is a troubling airline and they need to fix all their problems, but keep charging low fares.
Mergers have decimated unions.
...
Sounded like 20 minutes of missing the point.

For what it’s worth; it was expected the DOJ was going to take this to trial and not settle. But merger experts have said that if the DOJ gets off to a rocky start, a settlement could be presented. So hopefully we get feedback from the case that the judge isn’t overly enamored by the DOJs case.

That guy was straight up lying to shareholders trying to secure his sweetheart deal at Frontier. Telling shareholders the far inferior Frontier deal was better when it clearly wasn’t. Participate in the post pandemic recovery he said. Neither airline makes money. What a joke. Straight cash from JetBlue thankfully the shareholders saw right through his statements and hopefully the judge will too. He should have been removed by the board right then and there.
