Even if there are strong overtures from the judge that their case is weak, the administration still wants the talking points that the DOJ fought hard for the little guy in the face of greedy capitalism.

When this merger falls through, company's going to file bankruptcy, and the union going to come asking us to take more concessions with the same lame excuse as last time "Company has no money, this is their best offer."
Instead of another bite at the apple, they will tell us to start drinking Apple Cider.

ANOTHER delay for the trial. Now October 30th via Seekingalpha:
The Department of Justice's trial to block JetBlue's (NASDAQ:JBLU) planned purchase of Spirit Airlines (NYSE:SAVE) has been delayed for a second week.
The trial has now been delayed until Oct. 30 after it was originally postponed to Oct. 23 from Oct. 16 due to criminal trials to be held prior to the start of the SAVE/JBLU trial. No reason for the delay was indicated in Friday's court filing. The trial is scheduled to last four weeks.
